Sobuj Bon is spread over 100 acres. 80% of the area has plantation and 20% have water bodies. The resort has been constructed almost entirely out of eco-friendly materials. You will find just a bit cement and ceramic in the toilets.

There are small huts with thatched roofs. Some huts have air conditioning. The bathrooms are furnished with modern facilities. There is also a provision of an open-air dining, with seating arrangements made of bamboo and tiles.

Sobuj Bon, a carefully crafted green forest created out of passion, is very close to Santiniketan.

Sobuj Bon, which means a green forest in English, is totally different from most other tourist places. You don’t have to get up in the morning to see the sunrise, go on long day-trips, or get engaged with any activity. Forget all your routines. All you do here is relax, while you are surrounded by greenery, ponds, and lazy village life.

There are exotic plants and mud houses all around you. It’s a visual delight. Actually, Sobuj Bon looks very similar to a traditional Bengali village.

The food is cooked from locally procured ingredients and served fresh. Cross the bamboo bridge to reach the ethnic restaurant, or have your meals in complete privacy at your own mud cottage.

The Ajoy River offers a delightful backdrop. You can walk up to the river, which is almost next door. All around you there are Nolinas, Cycus, Edenium, Mili, Obesum, Bogenvelia and Panthapadap trees, and plenty of flowers.
