Mon Chasha, West Bengal
Mon Chasha is located on the banks of Bagda River in the remote village of Paushi, in East Midnapur district of West Bengal.
There are four octagonal bamboo huts, covered entirely with Hogla leaves, which open to the Bagda River on one side and the huge fish ponds on the other.

Mon Chasha is a blend of authentic village culture, pure earthen tradition, the cultural heritage of Bengal, the slow-paced rural life, and a true sentiment of natural India. Located within a village, just an hour from Kolkata by road, it promises a complete village experience. Mon Chasha has already served more than two thousand guests, and all of them have given a positive feedback.
Project Mon Chasha was set in motion in 2012 to help the local people and economy through tourism. The idea is to create job opportunities for the villagers, while also ensuring that tourists have a good time seeing and experiencing real village life. Particular attention was given to retain the originality and uniqueness of the village.
See local cultural performances like Chhau, Raibneshe Jatra Pala, Baul Fakir Darbesh and other programs. The Sahajiya cultural centre is a straw / hogla thatched circular clay court beautified with green grass. Do not miss Nabya Nakshi, the handicraft centre. Take your children to Tala Bhangar Poth, the play station, where they can play Carom, Ludo and other traditional folk style games like Guti Khela, Guli Danda, Bagh-Bandi, Luko-Churi, Jor-Bijor, Ekka Dokka etc.
