
Beginning at the cosmic centre of Kashi, the city of light, you will get familiar with the rites and rituals by exploring ancient pathways to the temples and mosques of Hindus & Muslims. Observe the age old cremation rituals at Manikarnika and hear the story of how all life began!
The walk ends at Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, which is said to hold the first of the jyotirlingas, the sacred shafts of light in the universe. Come seek the original foundations of the city of light as we traverse winding paths through Shiva’s court!

Walk slowly, exploring Banaras, understanding and admiring, what is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited city on earth. In this walk, you can take a closer look at some of the rites and rituals of the city. The walk has been designed to keep the virtue of exploration in mind. You have a lot of time to inspect, learn, absorb and photograph. Your interest may be religion, food, photography, history or culture - it is for you to explore the boundaries of your subject.

We start from Indica Books that is located just south of Godolia round-a-bout, near the Dasaswmedh Ghat area.
This walk can be booked anytime between 7:00-20:00. If you have special requirements just ask and we will do our best to assist you!
We can pick you up from your hotel on a cycle rickshaw.
